Joel Thomas Kitzmiller died in Woodland, Ca. on July 9, 2004. Joel was born in Corvallis, Oregon on November 19, 1947, His father, Donald, was in the US Air Force so the family lived many places including Minot, ND. Joel's family includes his wife Kaye of Woodland, daughter Debra of Napa, sons Chad and Jason of Woodland, Mother Joyce of Hanford, sisters Nancy Decker of Fresno, and Kathy Maciel of Hanford, brothers Richard of New mexico and Bill of Alaska. Joel was preceded in death by his father.

The Kitzmiller family moved into the house accross the street in the fall of 1960 and Joel and I became friends. We were sixth graders at Edison in Mr. Broadrick's class. We walked to and from school, played and talked. Because his father was in the Airforce, Joel had many life experiances and had lived many places that I had only read about. His family moved to base housing when we were in Jr. High and we drifted apart but I have always been thankful for his friendship for those few years and have thought of him many times since. I have tried many times to find Joel with no success untill a couple of days ago when I found his obituary. I am sorry that I missed the chance to reconnect and renew our friendship Joel. Thanks for the memories.
