Terry Wayne Lykken was born September 12, 1948, the son of Vernon and Carol Lykken in Watertown, SD.   He was raised in Minot, North Dakota and graduated Minot High School in 1966.  He continued his education receiving a degree in Architectural Drafting & Construction Estimating.

In 1969, Terry enlisted and proudly served in the United States Army.  He was assigned to the Artillery Division, and spent 15 months in Vietnam, achieving the rank of SPC4.

Upon his return from service in 1971, Terry met Deborah.  The two married in 1972, and began to start a family. The family lived in Wahpeton, ND, as well as Longmont, CO, and Grand Forks, ND while growing their family. Ultimately, the family settled in Rapid City, SD in 1985. Throughout the journey their union created three children Nicole, Travis, and Clint.  From their children, they were blessed with 3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.

Throughout life Terry worked hard to support his family as a salesman across many platforms.  This included sales of spirits, lumber, heavy construction equipment, industrial, and mining supplies. His efforts established a contract with Homestake Gold Mine that created an integrated on site supply warehouse that supplied over 90% of above, and below ground, operating supplies to the mine until their closure.

An amazing husband, father, grandfather, and son, Terry was a family man and cherished most the times he spent with his family.  Whether it was camping, fishing, or gathering for a family dinner, he enjoyed being surrounded by those he loved.

Terry passed peacefully the morning of November 18th with his wife by his side.
